Religious Wedding Ceremony
Ministers from a variety of denominations are available including Church of Scotland and Methodist for your Religious Wedding Ceremony, contact us for details of ministers available. Each minister will arrange the fee with you direct, as we are not involved in any payment for their services.
Once you have arranged a minister to conduct your Religious Wedding Ceremony you should send to the Gretna Registrars the completed Marriage Notice Forms (M10 Form), relevant documents such as birth certificates and the fee of £70.00 no less than 15 working days before the date of your marriage and no more than 3 months beforehand.
The following information should be included on the M10 forms:
- Section A - Place of Marriage: World Famous Blacksmiths Shop, Gretna Green OR Smiths at Gretna Green
- Section B - Name of Minister
Remember to collect your Marriage Schedule from the Gretna Registration Office on the day of your wedding or up to 7 days beforehand. The bride or groom ONLY must pick up this schedule. Their office is closed on a Sunday and Monday.
Remember to return your Marriage Schedule, once you are married, to Gretna Registration Office within 3 days of your ceremony. There is a letterbox on their door to post this into if they are closed.
Religious Marriage Fees
There is a separate fee for the minister. The only fee you pay to the Gretna Registrars is for your Marriage Schedule, which is £70.00 (payable to the Gretna Registrars direct with your M10 Form)
