By using our website or making a booking with us, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. The latest version will always be available on our website.
4. Wedding Bookings
When booking a wedding with Gretna Green:
- A full copy of Wedding Terms & Conditions will be provided in your confirmation pack
- Signed acceptance may be required

5. Hotel Bookings
(Applies to Gretna Hall Hotel and Smiths at Gretna Green unless otherwise stated)
5.1 Booking & Contract
A booking becomes legally binding when:
- We confirm your reservation, and
- Payment or deposit is received
Bookings must be made by individuals aged 18 or over.
5.2 Payment
- A valid debit or credit card is required
- Advance Rates: Full payment at booking (non-refundable)
- Standard Rates: Non-refundable deposit required
5.3 Pricing
All prices:
- Are per room per night
- Include VAT, breakfast, and service charges
- Apply only to confirmed booking details
Additional services may incur extra charges.
5.4 Cancellations & Amendments
- Must be made at least 24 hours before arrival
- Deposits and advance payments are non-refundable

5.5 Check-In / Check-Out
- Check-in: From 3:00 pm
- Check-out: By 11:00 am
5.6 Conditions of Stay
We may terminate a stay without refund if a guest:
- Causes disruption
- Breaches rules
- Poses a safety risk
5.7 Additional Policies
- Children are welcome
- Strictly non-smoking (charges apply for breaches)
- Guests are liable for damage caused
- Liability is limited to booking value (except where legally required)
6. Event Bookings
6.1 Booking & Responsibility
The person making the booking accepts these terms on behalf of all attendees.
6.2 Deposits & Payments
- £10 per person deposit required
- Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable
- Full payment due 28 days before the event
6.3 Changes & Cancellations
We reserve the right to:
- Modify event details
- Reschedule or cancel where necessary
6.4 Behaviour
We may refuse entry or remove guests without refund if behaviour is:
- Disruptive
- Unsafe
- In breach of venue rules
6.5 Prohibited Items
Not permitted:
- Illegal substances
- Weapons or hazardous items
- External alcohol
- Offensive materials
6.6 Additional Policies
- Only assistance dogs permitted
- Smoking only in designated areas
- We are not responsible for lost or stolen property
6.7 Media & Photography
By attending, you consent to:
- Photography and video recording
- Use of media for promotional purposes
6.8 Personal Data
Your data will be used in accordance with applicable data protection laws and our Privacy Policy.
7. Online Store
Purchases made via our website are subject to separate Online Store Terms & Conditions.
8. Competitions
8.1 Eligibility
- Open to individuals aged 18+
- One entry per person
- No purchase required
8.2 Entry & Selection
- Entry via specified method (e.g. survey)
- Winners selected at random

- Non-transferable
- No cash alternative
- Substitutions may be made if necessary
8.4 Winner Notification
- Winners contacted within 5 days
- 48 hours to claim prize before redraw

We are not responsible for:
- Technical failures
- Incomplete entries
- Unauthorised interference
We may cancel or amend competitions where necessary.
9. Liability
We are not liable for failure to perform obligations due to events beyond our reasonable control.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability where it cannot be excluded by law.
