DEPUTY SALES MANAGER

Job Summary:

Gretna Green Ltd are seeking an enthusiastic, passionate, confident and motivated Deputy Wedding Sales Manager to join their successful, award-winning wedding team; reporting directly to the company’s Wedding Sales Manager.

The role involves managing and motivating a team of Wedding Planners while driving and influencing a pro-active sales culture to ensure the team optimise sales; while providing exceptional customer service. 

Essential Requirements:

We’re looking for someone with proven leadership skills, a flexible attitude, self-motivation and the ability to manage time effectively.

Applicants must have a proven track record in sales, people management and working to targets. Experience in the wedding or hospitality industry would beneficial. 

This role is an ideal career opportunity for an experienced sales person looking to take their first step into a management role. 

Hours:  Full Time

Rota:  5 days out of 7 to be worked flexibly, Monday to Sunday

MUSEUM GUIDE

Job Summary:

To work as part of a dynamic team at our five-star visitor attraction where quality and attention to detail is essential in promoting and selling the history, experiences and range of products the museum offers.  To develop business and maximise income and profitability within the guidelines, policies and procedures set by GG Ltd.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Providing a warm welcome to visitors and interacting with visitors throughout their visit
  • Ensuring every opportunity is taken to increase sales and to convert visitors to customers
  • Ensuring that the Museum is presented to the best effect
  • Operating the ICG till,   handling  cash, credit and debit cards and ensure cash is reconciled at the end of each day
  • Welcoming and assisting  with wedding parties, baby naming ceremonies, celebrants and registrars
  • Conducting non- religious Blacksmiths Blessings and Handfastings
  • To promote in-house photography
  • To perform fun wedding re-enactments, where visitors are given an interactive experience of a runaway marriage
  • Conducting guided tours and talks about the Gretna Green story
  • Promote a positive perception of the company at all times both internally & externally
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of services and products available on-site and the history of Gretna Green
  • Daily liaison with Gretna Green wedding bureau and group travel pavilion to ensure smooth running of diaries
  • Take part in media activities organised by the business
  • Take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work
  • Comply with the law as it applies to retailing, in particular the Sale of goods Act
  • Be accountable for their own development through the Performance and Development Review(Appraisal) process seeking out opportunities to learn new skills

FULL TIME HOTEL RECEPTIONIST

Job Summary:

Gretna Green Ltd are seeking a part-time Receptionist to work over our three hotels during our forthcoming busy season (6-month contract). The candidate should have excellent communications skills to help ensure that our guests experience a high quality service, so that on departure guests are left with a lasting impression of excellent customer service which exceeds their expectations.

  • To receive guests to the hotel by greeting them warmly and attend to their enquiries in a professional and courteous manner whether in person, telephone or email
  • Inform customers of the services and up-to-date accommodation rates and promote special offers
  • To update the Reception diary during and at the end of shift to enable accurate billings and ensure all important activities are detailed for accountability
  • Attend to all methods of booking, such as online, phone and in person to ensure that reservations are dealt with promptly
  • Administer all reservations including, cancellations and no-shows, in line with company policy in a prompt and efficient manner
  • To manage credit/debit card and cash transactions, counting floats on each shift and deal with the Loomis banking, ensuring compliance with Data Protection , financial regulations and company policy
  • To keep up to date with current promotions and hotel pricing, to provide information to guests, on request, whilst maximising bedroom and other sales opportunities

Essential qualities

  • To have an excellent telephone manner and communication skills
  • To have worked in a Hotel or customer facing role
  • To be punctual and reliable
  • To be flexible with working hours
  • Have excellent organisational skills

All hotels are ideally situated within easy access of both rail and road. Off Junction 45 of the M6/Junction 21 M74 and 5 minute walk from Gretna Green train station (11 minutes by train to Gretna from Carlisle).

BARTENDER / FOOD & BEVERAGE ASSISTANT

Job Summary:

We are now seeking to recruit an energetic and enthusiastic Bartender/Food and Beverage Assistant to join our diverse and flexible team at Smith's Hotel in providing an efficient and friendly front of house service to customers in the restaurant and bar areas, promoting Gretna Green Ltd's core values and ensuring the delivery of a high quality service.

Main duties and responsibilities

Bartender duties:

  • To serve alcohol and non alcoholic drinks to customers at the bar and tables in a friendly and timely manner
  • To ensure stock is maintained at agreed levels be restocking the bar at the end of every shift and ensuring stock is rotated in date order.
  • To receive payment from customers using the Till and Streamline for debit and credit cards
  • Ensure bar is kept clean at all times by cleaning classes, mopping surfaces and emptying bins
  • To greet customers on arrival and ensure they are seated comfortably and made welcome
  • To clear and clean tables according to the Company's guidelines

Food & Beverage Assistant duties:

  • To take customer orders and have a sound knowledge of the menu choices and Specials of the Day and be able to answer customer queries. Also to have sound knowledge of allergens and range of dietary requirements
  • To deliver orders to the customer and ensure customer satisfaction through engaging with the customer following delivery of meal
  • To set up tables and function rooms in a timely and efficient manner

RESTAURANT HOST

Job Summary :

The Foodcourt is located at our 5-star tourist attraction, the Famous Blacksmiths Shop, with a large and busy, self-service restaurant with onsite bar; exceeding expectations with a range of locally sourced products ranging from light snacks to cooked meals - including a carvery and delicious home-baking as well as hot and cold refreshments.

We are now looking for a dynamic Restaurant Host who can bring a flair to the role; leaving our customers with a lasting impression of excellent food and outstanding customer service. The Restaurant Host  will engage with our customers, ensuring that all guests have a unique and memorable experience.  The role includes welcoming and greeting customers, being intuitive to their needs and answering any queries they may have. The Restaurant Host is also responsible for assisting in the serving of hot food, ensuring that the presentation of food is to the highest standard and that portion control meets company guidelines.

Rate of Pay: National Minimum Wage

Hours of Work: 25 hours per week to be worked flexibly over 5 days out of 7
