Food and Beverage Supervisor (Full-time)

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Food and Beverage Supervisor to join our team and contribute to providing an unforgettable experience for our guests. As a Food and Beverage Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dining outlets and providing an exceptional guest experience. You will supervise the food and beverage team, oversee daily operations, and maintain high standards of quality and service.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the food and beverage staff ensuring exceptional service standards are met
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, bar and other dining outlets within the hotel
  • Train, mentor and motivate staff to deliver outstanding guest service
  • Monitor inventory levels, order supplies and maintain proper stock levels
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to create and update menus, ensuring variety and quality
  • Handle guest inquiries, concerns and complaints promptly and professionally
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and sanitation standards
  • Prepare reports and documentation related to food and beverage operations
  • Uphold the hotel's policies and procedures, including responsible alcohol service guidelines

Required Skills include:

  • Proven experience as a Food and Beverage Supervisor or similar role in a hotel or upscale restaurant
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations and industry trends
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure gracefully
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with restaurant management software

Job Description:

We are currently looking for a full-time Chef De Partie to join our fantastic team at Gretna Green Ltd and to welcome our valued customers providing them a menu of homemade, varied range of dishes.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Working with a team of passionate colleagues to cater for fine dining and banqueting facilities
  • Running a section in the kitchen and making sure due diligence procedures are strictly adhered to
  • Assist the sous chefs and head chef in making sure all sections in the kitchen are prepped and ready for service
  • Full training will be given but previous 4 star and 1 or 2 rosette cooking skills standards would be advantageous

Required Skills include:

  • Level 2/3 Food Safety Certification, COSSH, and IOSSH and Level 2 Health & Safety would be advantageous
  • Awareness of Food Allergens and sound product knowledge of recipes and dishes
  • Ability to work on your own initiative in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team
  • Sound computer skills and cash handling accuracy
  • Polite spoken manner and clear communication skills
  • Confident and approachable

Job Description:

We are currently looking for full-time or part-time Restaurant / Bar team members to provide an efficient and friendly front of house service to customers in the restaurant and bar areas, promoting Gretna Green’s core values and ensuring the delivery of a high-quality service.

Main Responsibilities

  • To greet and serve customers efficiently and politely in an engaging manner
  • To take customers’ orders and have a sound knowledge of the menu choices
  • To have sound knowledge of allergens and range of dietary requirements
  • Greet guests nicely, take their drink orders and help them feel welcome at the bar
  • To deliver orders to the customer and ensure customer satisfaction through engaging with the customer following delivery of meals
  • To set up tables and function rooms in a timely and efficient manner
  • To clear and clean tables according to the guidelines
  • To receive payment from customers using the Till and Streamline for debit and credit cards
  • Handle guest enquiries and requests in a timely manner, referring details to other colleagues and management, if unable to directly assist
  • To comply with all company policies, procedures and legislation

Required Skills include:

  • Previous experience in the hotel trade, restaurant, or similar environment desired, but not essential as training will be provided
  • Ability to deliver consistent high level customer service especially under pressure
  • Outstanding customer care skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Work well individually as well as in a team
  • Commercial awareness and drive for increasing sales through upselling food and beverage items

To lead and deliver successful hotel operations, with responsibility for ensuring the highest level of guest satisfaction, team management, and maintaining the overall strong efficiency and profitability of the business unit.  The roles demands a keen on first class customer service which exceeds guest expectations.   Through considered and crafted planning and organisation of resource, assets and space ensure optimised delivery of a high quality service to both internal and external stakeholders which meets excellent standards of accommodation, food, events, weddings and business performance and consistently delivers  in line with our core values and four star standards expected from a highly reputable Scottish wedding, hospitality and tourism business.

Main Responsibilities

  • Operational Management:
    • Oversee day-to-day hotel operations, ensuring smooth and efficient processes.
    • Implement and enforce policies and procedures to maintain high-quality standards across all departments.
  • Guest Services:
    • Foster a customer-centric culture focused on delivering exceptional guest experiences.
    • Address guest inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and effectively.
  • Team Leadership:

    • Recruit, train, and evaluate staff to ensure exceptional service delivery.
  • Financial Management:

    • Oversee routine maintenance and address any issues promptly.
  • Compliance and Safety:
    • Ensure compliance with local regulations, licensing requirements, and safety standards.
    • Implement and enforce health and safety protocols for the well-being of guests and staff.
  • Event Coordination
    • Coordinate and oversee events, conferences, and meetings hosted at the hotel.
    • Work closely with event planners to ensure successful execution.
  • Vendor Relationships
    • Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors, suppliers, and service providers.
    • Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favourable terms.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance overall hotel performance.
    • Stay informed about industry trends and competition to maintain a competitive edge.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Good standard of general education
  • Management qualification or Hospitality and catering qualification or similar at Level 5 or above highly desirable
  • Property management/hotel experience in a managerial role
  • Developed leadership skills
  • Knowledge of 4 star property standards and securing same
  • Strong understanding of range of hotel operations and departments, financial management, and guest service principles
  • Strong wedding business or Scottish hospitality experience desirable
