With over 8 ceremony venues, we can usually accommodate your chosen date, even if you are booking last minute, but if you have a secondary date in mind, just in case, then let us know this too.
2. Pick a Wedding Package
The simplest way to plan your Gretna Green wedding is to pick one of our ready-made Wedding Packages. You can then add other wedding services and upgrade your menus and accommodation, but it makes for an easy start to planning your special day.
3. Your Marriage Schedule
You will both need to complete certain documentation for the Gretna Registrars to create your Marriage Schedule. The full details for completing and submitting this documentation can be found here.

Plan Your Bespoke Wedding in 7 Easy Steps
1. Choose Your Date
We will advise you on dates that are available and make a provisional booking for you. Provisional bookings are held for two weeks.
2. Choose Your Ceremony Venue
On this website, we showcase all of Gretna Green’s historic, romantic wedding venues. If you need advice on capacity or distances from hotels to venues then please do not hesitate to ask questions -we are always on hand to offer advice.
3. Choose Your Ceremony Style
Religious or civil…it’s up to you. Once you have booked your ceremony venue we will arrange a Civil Marriage Celebrant or help you arrange a Minister to conduct your ceremony.
4. Choose Your Banqueting Venue
If you’re having a wedding banquet then details of banqueting venues and wedding menus can be found on this site. Set menus are included in the wedding packages or you can upgrade. We can discuss this once you have chosen your banqueting venue.
5. Choose Your Hotel Accommodation
It is important to consider how many guests you wish to invite and what accommodation you wish to arrange for them.
You have the choice of our 2 hotels, Gretna Hall Hotel or Smiths Hotel.
6. Choose Your Wedding Extras
From flowers and cakes to evening entertainment; here at Gretna Green, we can help you plan and arrange all you need for your perfect special day! Just ask our Wedding Planners for more information.

Fees for Civil or Religious Celebrants 2026
Civil Marriage Celebrant Fees:
Weekdays – £439.00 | Saturday, Sunday & Public Holidays – £666.00
This includes the fee for your Marriage Schedule.
Religious Marriage Fees:
Marriage Schedule Fee – £100.00 | The additional fee for the minister – £200.00 (Monday – Friday) £300.00 (Saturday – Sunday)
All fees are correct as of 1st April 2026. Civil Marriage Celebrant fees are subject to change.
