A Handsome Historic Hotel
Built back in 1710 as a manor house, before becoming a coaching inn later that century, Gretna Hall has long been a fixture of Gretna Green village. One of the famous anvil priests, John Linton, leased it in 1825 as part of a push to attract genteel couples here. It worked, helping the hall to gain renown as a preferred destination for aristocratic weddings, though everyone’s welcome to celebrate in this elegant place today.
A picturesque location with notable heritage, Gretna Hall is a wonderful setting for your wedding reception. And while it offers a window into the past, in 2018 it received a tasteful makeover to its lounge, bar and restaurant areas, plus its large function rooms – The Criffel and Annandale suites. An upgrade to the Drawing Room followed in 2020, ensuring the ‘grand old lady’ is up-to-date in all the right places.

Wedding Menu Packages and Upgrades
Our Bronze Wedding Menu & Drinks Package is automatically included in all wedding packages, except for the Elopement for 2, Gretna Green for 2, and Perfect Day, Overnight Stay packages.

Kids can select from the children’s menu but because we know it’s best to have options for youngsters, they can also pick half of an adult’s portion from main menu dishes. Our wedding team will be delighted to discuss your menu preferences in more detail with you.
Evening Buffets at Smiths
Our Buffet 1 option is automatically included as part of the Bronze menu package. For just £2 more per guest, you can upgrade to our Buffet 2 option instead.
Drinks Packages
We have a selection of popular wedding drinks combinations for you to choose from. However, if you wish something different, we’ll be only too happy to help you put together your own choices. If you’d like to upgrade from the standard Drinks package, the following items may be added to your reception.
