The ‘Love Story’ 40-60 Guest Wedding

The Ceremony

With the ‘Love Story’ package, your wedding is guaranteed to be a magical memory for you and all of your valued guests. Begin your special day with a romantic marriage ceremony in the Famous Blacksmiths Shop, the Original Home of Romance since 1754 (when English law prevented couples under 16 from marrying without their parents’ consent), and become part of our continued history in the Original Marriage Room; locking-in your love on the same iconic spot as centuries of couples before you. Or, if you’d like something a little more private, choose to upgrade to 2-hours’ exclusive use of the Courtyard at Gretna Hall, giving you a completely intimate ceremony throughout.

Are you considering a larger ceremony? If you’d prefer all your friends and family to attend your marriage, then we can easily cater for larger wedding parties with our other venue options. Choose between Gretna Hall’s historic Marriage Rooms and Greens at Gretna’s tranquil Water Gardens, or feel free to discuss any other ideas you might have, on 01461 336001. These alternative options give you the freedom to include all of your loved ones in the ceremony as well as the reception, ensuring not a single person (or pet!) has to miss out on that all-important “I do”.

The ‘Love Story’ package includes a multitude of added extras, designed to give you piece of mind from start to finish, knowing that we’ve got your big day covered.

Treasure those special memories forever with a full Photography Package of 30 (8”x6”) photos of your choosing, shot by one of our talented and highly-experienced Gretna Green photographers, and presented in a mounted album. Gretna Green’s rich heritage, beautiful sculptures and glorious outdoor gardens make for stunningly unique wedding photographs that simply cannot be recreated anywhere else. Here are just a few examples of how your special day could be captured through the lens.

Choose to host your reception in a private function room in Smiths Hotel, Gretna Hall or Greens at Gretna, and feel like royalty as you walk into your wedding reception on your very own red carpet, greeted with a glass of Bucks Fizz each.

Before you get set to dance the night away, sit down to a delicious 3-course meal from your chosen hotel’s Bronze Menu, for you and all of your guests; with a glass of red or white wine included, as well as a glass of sparkling wine for your celebratory wedding toast. Exclusive to all our 10+ guest packages, your table will be lovingly decorated with name cards, confetti, candles, napkins and more! Plus, enjoy a tasty two-tier Scottish wedding cake from our local baker, with a cake stand and knife hire included.

Get everyone into the partying mood after your meal with your very own evening disco with a DJ and dance floor; perfect for everyone to let their hair down, and for that first dance together as a married couple. Plus, to satisfy any dance-induced cravings for snacks and nibbles, your ‘Love Story’ package also includes an evening cocktail buffet!

As your magical day draws to a close, spend your first night together as a married couple in a spacious suite at our hotel of your choice, where you’ll be greeted with a bottle of sparkling wine, bathrobes and slippers, and luxury toiletries. You’ll even enjoy breakfast in bed the next day too!
