It's time to wave good-bye to January and welcome February with open arms! Whilst it may be the shortest month, February certainly isn't short on love, romance and happiness!

You may have noticed that Valentine's Day 2017 is just around the corner - certainly a fitting time to pull out all the stops when it comes to sweeping that someone special off their feet. But it's not just all about Valentine's Day here in Gretna Green Famous Blacksmiths Shop....we're celebrating love and romance the whole month! We've got National Marriage Week from the 7th to the 14th and then National Flirting Week (yes that's actually a thing!) from the 12th to the 18th!

Now isn't that a wonderful way to add a touch of romance and cheer at this time of the year!

It's nearly December here in Gretna Green which means it's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas! Finishing touches are going on our party nights at Smiths Hotel and our sister hotel Gretna Hall and Greens at Gretna, our first-ever Gretna Green Christmas decorations are here at Gretna Green Famous Blacksmiths Shop, Santa's on the way to our Christmas family event at the Blacksmiths Restaurant with plenty of treats for the little ones .... and our festive menus are ready!

We've got some exciting news! If you've stopped by Gretna Green lately, you may have noticed a few changes going on....it's been a very busy couple of months for us here at Gretna Green! Back in August, we welcomed a new member to our Gretna Green family - Gretna Hall Hotel joined Smiths at Gretna Green, Greens at Gretna, the Old Toll Bar (and us, Gretna Green Famous Blacksmiths Shop) as the newest member of the growing Gretna Green family.

Did you hear?? Here at Gretna Green Famous Blacksmiths Shop, we're officially counting down to the start of Wedding Town which will start airing on Monday 22nd August on Channel 4....!

Well this is exciting news - we've just heard that Outlander has been nominated for two Emmy Awards - one of them for costume design (very exciting as we love all things tartan.....)

We were off for a wander around the shops the other day when we happened to pop into Hamper and Home to have a wee look round - you never know what you might find when you're not looking!

We spotted these totally-adorable wire wiggle animals - how cute are they! We can't imagine anyone not wanting one of these cute rustic wiggly metal lambs or chickens or goats. This wonderfully wiggly collection of handmade metal animal sculptures make lovely decorations perfect as a housewarming gift!
